Nexus 2 has so many sick synths! I layered a few synths from Nexus with a drum pattern I had designed in Maschine, added a sub rattling bass line, and let the beat take on a life of its own. I plan on performing this beat at instrumental showcases I will be participating in this summer. It is a combination of Midwest rhythms with a West Coast melodic element and a Southern style focus on bass; in a way the beat combines my experiences of living in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Rockford into a bass heavy hip hop track.
